    Good Afternoon.

    It is my great pleasure to join you in celebrating the inaugural flight of Airlines from Beijing Capital Airport to the O'Hare International Airport, Chicago.

    I wish to extend my warmest congratulations to the Hainan Airlines, the O'Hare International Airport, the City of Chicago and all the travelers who fly between China and the US. It is indeed an important developmetn in the civic aviation cooperation between China and Chicago.

    Hainan Airlines is prestigious Chinese air carrier with great vision.

    Its decision to start the direct flight between Beijing and Chicago has relected its deep understanding of the potential in the ever-growing ties between China and America's Midwest in the areas of trade and economic cooperation, culture, education and people-to-people exchanges.

    This newly opended flight will serve as another important bridge in linking China and America's Midwest. It will bring more Chinese tourists, students, entrepreneurs and people of all walks of life to Chicago and the Midwest as well as carry more Americans to visit China.

    I commend Hainan Airlines for opening this new flight, which will surely contribute to deepening exchanges and cooperation between China and my consular area.

    I also want to thank the Municipal Government and Aviation Authority of Chicago and all relevant orgnizations on the US side for their support in making this flight .
