On March 11, Mr. Wang Yong, the Acting Chinese Consul General to Chicago, delivered remarks at a Chinese New Year reception co-hosted by Deloitte Consulting and the Chinese Fine Arts Society, which was attended by nearly 100 guests from the business community in the Greater Chicago area. 

Acting Consul General Wang said that in the background of the stable development of China-US relations and stable growth of the Chinese economy, there are a lot of good news about the relationship between China and Chicago. 

Acting Consul General Wang pointed out that the Chinese economy had entered a "new normal", which meant that the economy had shifted gear from the previous high speed to a medium-to-high growth, the economic structure was constantly improved and upgraded, and the economy was increasingly driven by innovation instead of input and investment. 

He added that China and the United States would keep the momentum of building a new model of major-country relations. 

"The exchanges and cooperation between China and Chicago as well as the Midwest US will embrace an even brighter prospect. Hopefully, our friends in this region will actively exploit and catch the opportunities arising from robust growth of China's economy," the acting Consul General emphasized.
