Consul General Hong Lei Meets U.S. Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence

On August 30, Consul General Hong Lei met with U.S. Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence in Southfield, Michigan.

Consul General Hong Lei said that China has been strengthening its cooperation with Michigan. Chinese enterprises have strong interest in investing in Michigan. A large number of Chinese students are studying in Michigan universities. With China's sustained and rapid economic development, the great potential of economic and trade cooperation between China and Michigan will be further released and Chinese investment in the US will continue to grow. Mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation between the two sides will have broader prospects. The Consulate General would like to maintain contact with Congresswoman Lawrence and her district office and promote more bilateral exchanges and cooperation in automobile manufacturing and other fields.

Congresswoman Lawrence said that the US-China relations enjoy sound development in recent years and are of increasing significance. China has become an important force in international political and economic arena and Chinese investment has become a key driving force of Michigan's economic development. She supports a strong relationship between the US and China and hopes the two sides can further strengthen economic and trade cooperation.
