On September 20, Consul General Hong Lei met with students of Muscatine High School Choir who just paid a successful visit to China.

They look forward to another visit to China. The Choir also performed “Lasting Memory”, a song extolling China-US friendship, for the Consul General.

Consul General Hong Lei said that he was very happy to meet again with the students who he saw off at O’Hare International Airport on the second day of his tenure in Chicago. Learning that they had a very successful performance in China International Chorus Festival held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing and made a visit to Zhengding County of Hebei Province to conduct friendly exchanges, CG Hong Lei congratulated the students on this successful visit and said he was glad to know that China's splendid culture and the friendly Chinese people brought them good memories. CG Hong Lei said that young people represent the future. The development of China-US friendship relies on mutual exchanges and understanding of the young people on both sides. He hoped the students will become ambassadors of China-US friendship and contribute to the friendly relations between the two peoples.
