Consul General Hong Lei Attended 2017 Consular Corps Reception at University of Chicago

On November 30, Consul General Hong Lei attended the 2017 Consular Corps Reception hosted by the University of Chicago. President of the University of Chicago Robert Zimmer and representatives from other consulates in Chicago also attended the reception.

Consul General Hong Lei had cordial exchanges with President Zimmer and Vice President Srinivasan, congratulating the University of Chicago for its achievements in education cooperation and people-to-people exchanges with China during the past year. He wished President Zimmer and Vice President Srinivasan’s upcoming visit to China a great success. Consul General Hong Lei said that the Consulate General will make joint effort with the University of Chicago to further facilitate the University’s education cooperation and exchanges with China.

President Zimmer thanked the Consulate General for its continuous support for education cooperation and exchanges between the University of Chicago and China by which he had strongly encouraged. President Zimmer said that the University of Chicago Centers in Beijing and Hong Kong have provided platforms for direct exchanges and collaborations between the university’s faculty and students with their Chinese counterparts, delivering tangible benefits to both sides. These two Chinese centers will play an even bigger and positive role in the near future.
