Consul General Zhao Jian Visits U.S. State Department Chicago Regional Office of Foreign Missions

On March 15th, Consul General Zhao Jian visited the Chicago Regional Office of Foreign Missions (OFM) of the U.S. Department of State where he met with Associate Regional Directors John Monroe and Tim Wiley.

Consul General Zhao thanked the OFM for the convenience and assistance the Office has provided to the Consulate General and its staff in carrying out their consular duties. He went on to say that this year is the 40th anniversary of China-US diplomatic relations. The Consulate General will work together with the OFM and people of all sectors in the Midwest to further expand the mutually beneficial cooperation and people-to-people links between the two sides, and in doing so, contribute to the development of China-U.S. relations.

John Monroe and Tim Wiley warmly welcomed Consul General Zhao to his new post and said that they will continue to maintain close contact with the Consulate General and provide it with the support and assistance it needs to execute its consular functions with a view to jointly promoting the continued development of U.S.-China relations.

Deputy Consul General Huang Liming and Director of the General Office Zhou Muliang of the Consulate General were present at the meeting.
