Recently, Chinese Consulate General in Chicago donated 1,000 N95 masks to a local Chicago hospital in support of its fight against COVID-19.

"This donation is part of our effort to help those in need in fighting the virus”, Consul General Zhao Jian said at a brief handover ceremony at the Consulate-General which was also participated by Roseland Community Hospital President and CEO Tim Egan.

"The virus is the common enemy of mankind. What we need most at this most challenging time is solidarity and cooperation. It is imperative that China and the U.S. join hands to confront our common enemy, the virus. I believe that working together we will win the battle and make a big difference for the world. It is our sincere hope that Illinois will tide over this difficult time at an early date." CG Zhao added.

President Egan said at the event that “Roseland Community Hospital has been on the front lines of the pandemic, treating many patients who have COVID-19 and testing almost 20,000 people for the virus over the past few months. We truly appreciate the Consul General’s help in making sure health care workers at Roseland can stay safe and healthy. It is a vivid demonstration of friendship between our two great countries. This donation could not have come at a better time”.
