Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi Meets with Business Delegation from U.S. State of Nebraska

On October 16, 2008, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi met with a business delegation from the U.S. state of Nebraska headed by the former Administrator of U.S. Agency for International Development. Yang briefed on the latest developments of Sino-U.S. relations as well as China’s principled position on development of bilateral ties and appreciated the U.S. side for their long-term care and support for the ties. He also made positive comments on the exchanges and cooperation between the state of Nebraska and China, expressing hope that bilateral friendly cooperative relations will be strengthened continuously. The U.S. side spoke highly of China’s enormous achievements in development and congratulated on the complete success of the Beijing Olympic Games, expressing willingness to make relentless efforts to promote further development of bilateral ties. Yang also upon request took questions from the U.S. side on issues including the Beijing Olympic Games, China’s urban development and its reform of medical care system.
