One SARS patient in stable condition, other recovering

The SARS patient in Beijing is in stable condition and the other in east China's Anhui Province is continuing to recover, according to a daily report from China's Ministry of Health (MOH) Tuesday.

China reported no new SARS cases or suspected cases in the 24 hours from 10 a.m. Monday to 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to the report.

The SARS patient in Beijing, surnamed Li, has been in relatively stable condition and has reported a normal temperature for 11 straight days, the ministry said.

Beijing's five suspected SARS patients were hospitalized in Ditan Hospital for treatment and examination.

Two people who had close contact with the patient and are now under surveillance had reported fever and 12 others have been removed from medical observation, the ministry said.

The patient in Anhui, surnamed Song, was continuing to recover. All people who had close contact with her reported no abnormal symptoms and 36 people have been removed from medical observation,the ministry said.

The Chinese mainland has reported one confirmed SARS case and one suspected case in Anhui and one SARS case and five suspected cases in Beijing since April 22.

No other provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities have reported confirmed or suspected SARS case.
