Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Qing Gang's Remarks on the Current Situation of the Six-Party Talks
2008-10-14 13:21

Q: The US has announced its decision to remove the DPRK from the list of state sponsors of terrorism. And the DPRK said it will resume its effort to disable Nyongbyon nuclear facilities afterwards. Could you comment?

A: China commends the constructive efforts of relevant parties in promoting the Six-Party Talks. We hope all parties will earnestly fulfill their commitments and meet each other half way so as to complete the second-phase action in a comprehensive and balanced manner at an early date.

It is both in the common interest of all parties and the universal aspiration of the international community to see further progress in the Six-Party Talks. China is ready to further strengthen communication and cooperation with all other parties to press ahead with the Talks.
